A Journey in Aging: HoG Autumn

Today I’m continuing my Journey in Aging! Today I’m talking some more about the greatest perfume season: autumn! There are lots in this one because Haus of Gloi‘s fall collection is huuuuuge, so here we go…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! (HoG Autumn 2016)

Hey everyone!

Happy autumn! It’s time for cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes, and wearing boots and scarves. If only the weather would cooperate (global warming! *shakes fist*). The other thing I love about fall, though, is the perfume! Autumn perfumes are my absolute favorites, if you couldn’t tell by my sixteen92 Autumn Collection review.

Today I’ll be talking about Haus of Gloi’s autumn collection! Or, a very small part of it. I only got two new perfumes this year, because I had collected the rest in years past (#gottacatchemall). I’ll be re-reviewing those soon (and maybe reviewing some of them for the first time?), as part of my Journey in Aging series.

A Journey in Aging: HoG Summer

Today’s aging review is for Haus of Gloi‘s summer collection. Unfortunately I never actually reviewed this collection on the blog! So I don’t have notes to compare my thoughts. 😦 I guess we can consider this my official HoG summer review then.

I also used this opportunity to review the Tonics. In the spring, Haus of Gloi sometimes releases scents called “Tonic #x.” This year, they were #3, #4, and #5. These aren’t really aged (they’re about 6 months old), but I wanted to touch on them because they are thematically similar to the summer collection (lots of green notes), and because I haven’t given them a review here yet!

A Journey in Aging: HoG GC samples

Today I’m going to continue my journey with seeing how my perfumes have aged, which I started here. Today I’ll be continuing with Haus of Gloi, but moving on to the samples I have. They sell perfume samples in cute little 1 mL tubes with an applicator wand. I have about 50 HoG perfume samples (!!!), so I’ll be splitting this up. Today I’m reviewing the rest of the general catalog, which is available year-round.

A Journey in Aging…Perfumes.

I’m obsessed with the idea of aging.

I love the idea of things changing and getting better and better over time. I think that it’s magical that things can grow and change in unpredictable ways, with only time.

Did you know that perfumes age? It’s true! Perfumes can change how they smell over the years, or even within weeks or days! I think that’s so fantastic, that they transform and morph over time.

I’ve decided that I want to see how some of my favorites have changed over time. I started buying indie perfumes around two years ago (!), so I have some oldies in my collection. My personal taste has aged (heh) over time too, and I think it’ll be fun seeing how my perfumes and my taste have changed.

I want to start with my Haus of Gloi full-size collection. This is partly because HoG was the first indie perfume/b&b company I really got into! Some of these are among my first purchases. It’s also because my HoG collection is fairly small, I have 9 full sized perfumes. I don’t really get their perfumes anymore, for various reasons, but I love their whipped soaps and pumpkin butters, so I snatch them up all the time still.

So without further ado…

Haus of Gloi Spring Collection review

Hey team!

I really haven’t been great at keeping up with my blog! I just started back up in lab with an earnest about, oh, a week ago, and it’s been hard balancing work and hobbies. I’ll get better at it! I hope…it’s just a little rough right now haha! Sorry, team.

Anyway, today I wanted to share Haus of Gloi’s spring collection! Haus of Gloi is a super popular indie bath and body and perfume company. They make incredibly high quality products in awesome smells, but they’re still pretty small so their seasonal releases tend to sell out pretty quickly. I wanted to share their spring collection with you now because their restock is this weekend! It’s on the 5th, I believe. So if you like the sound of anything here you had better snap it up quick. 😉 On to the reviews! Continue reading
